This perfume has really grown on me. I primarily detect a lush immortelle accord with its sweet, syrupy characteristics complemented by Tonka, coffee, and incense notes. What initially caught my attention was a robust grassy facet, featuring both fresh green and ripe summer stalks. The combination of grass and immortelle is ideal for marking the end of summer's warmth and the onset of fall. Although maple undertones are present, this fragrance avoids being too gourmand.
I concur with the reviewers who have identified notes of cola, candy, incense, and oud in this perfume. While the scent is lovely, unfortunately, it doesn't resonate with me.
This perfume stands out for its exceptional quality, as Interlude for women offers a masterful reimagining of Guerlain Shalimar's modern essence, with 10 harmonious notes expertly combined. I must admit that the incorporation of kiwi and walnut into this fragrance was particularly striking to me, as they were novel ingredients in my experience before encountering this scent, and their presentation within the complex melody of notes is truly captivating.
All Amouage lines are my go-to favorites... Interlude is incredibly luxurious to smell! I'm thrilled that I purchased the tester version from a friend who works at the Amouage boutique in KL, as we know that high-end brands often markup their prices by almost 70% from factory prices. I was able to snag them for only $90 USD, which is a whopping 60% discount from the original market price! The Opus Library collection is a bit pricier at around $130 USD. 💸
I am utterly enamored with this fragrance. A symphony of equally robust and distinct citrussy, spicy, floral, and amber notes is masterfully blended to create perfect consonance. One might never expect kiwi, incense, and walnuts to converge in such an astonishing way! It's undoubtedly not for the faint of heart, as it exudes a powerful and broad presence with only a few spritzes. Indeed, this scent is best suited for colder climates, yet I find myself utterly captivated by its allure and cannot get enough of it.
