Another myrrh and frankincense perfume, but very balsamic, rich and toffee-sticky. A little soapy too, with an almost chlorine-like green note. There's a distinct sweetness permeating throughout that I can't identify in the note list and I don't think is just the myrrh. It's very resinous. Opoponax maybe? Or it could be a smoothing out of the myrrh by ambroxan. I do get a little headachy from this one so I suspect the latter. That sweetness means it just falls short in a crowded field for me.

Smoky, pine foresty smell. I immediately got teleported to the summer trips of my childhood through pine forests, although this one smells stronger and smokier.

most church smelling perfume I’ve ever tried. Love

The branches and leaves of pine/cypress/juniper has just been freshly woodchipped. Or maybe you just climbed the tree itself and got a branch slapped in your face. It's sharp and acidic. Someone is burning a very resinous log in the background. It's probably march or april.. the ground isnt dry yet. Dusk is almost over (the sky is a cold blue and your eyes are slowly adjusting) and the dry cold of the night is setting in. Home is still a 10 minute walk away, but it's peaceful. I think there should be a second axis to the "masc - fem" spectrum that is "candle - perfume". I love this scent so much -- it reminds me deeply of my childhood, growing up in a piney mountainous forest area. But at the same time, this is absolutely not a fragrance I imagine any character wearing. This is only the smell of a space to me. If I could scent my whole house with this, I would. But I am referring to the scent I'm picking up on my skin - it's deeper and more resinous than when sprayed on paper. On paper the pine dries down into a very astringent smokiness, and there is hardly any of the amber warmth to it.

Ugggghhhh...I do not want to go against the grain here. And I love my fellow Fragantica reviewers, I really do. I HATE going against the grain here. And I do not wish to offend all the Jovoy lovers. However, I must go along with the neutral and negative reviews on this one. Awful! And after my FOURTH Jovoy try...I'm done. Perhaps my nostrils are cluttered with my last (latest) Jovoy (Psychedelique) try prior to La Liturgie but I am detecting AMBER...again! Amber, amber and more amber! C'mon Jovoy! Because of the quality ingredients evident in Jovoy fragrances AND the staying power (longevity), I REALLY want to love ONE of this house's fragrances; however, I'm done. Well, if it's all "in my head," than it's all in my head; but I swear this fragrance opened with notes of sweet, sickly, cloying AMBER and if not, definitely some sickly sweet, granulated something...some sweet gourmand note, perhaps. Trying to push through the opening, I felt dizzy with confusing mixed notes of God knows what...incense, myrrh, smoke, berries, jam, jelly, fruit-cake. I don't get it. I literally felt nauseated and as if I was developing a colossal headache. So strong, I begged for the hours to pass and for this fragrance to fade. Of course it did not. After several hours, I couldn't bear it anymore, so I had to scrub...and scrub and scrub and scrub. And f course...like all Jovoy fragrances...I could not get this one off. Finally washed all clothing and took a shower. I'm done trying Jovoy fragrances :0(
