Reviews

In moderate amounts, Iso-E can contribute nuance to a fragrance, but when used in excess, I find it unbearable. To me, it has a synthetic quality that evokes the scent of a damp, decaying tree trunk, which is not an uplifting aroma and actually leaves me feeling melancholic and disconnected.

This scent has a peculiar quality to me, reminiscent of a strong, dark ink - no surprise, given Encre Noire's prominent use of iso e super ๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ. The resulting aroma is peppery, cedarwood-like, and musky, with an unsettling yet intriguing chemical undertone that makes me think of pheromones ๐Ÿ’ฅ. While not overpowering or "stinky" per se, it has a certain primal allure to it - like the intoxicating aroma of someone you're deeply attracted to ๐Ÿ˜. It's as if my brain is responding to its scent in a raw, instinctual way, leaving me with this strange, metallic tingling sensation โšก๏ธ. This "bloody" quality (in both senses) adds an edgy, almost industrial tone to the fragrance, evoking images of rusty tools or intense, sweaty moments ๐Ÿ”ฉ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Of course, perfume preferences are highly subjective, so I'm curious to see how this scent behaves on others' skin ๐Ÿ’ง.

Molecule 01 by Escentric Molecules is a woody fragrance with a subtle presence, but I initially detect a bright, citrusy quality from lime or bergamot before it transitions into a somewhat earthy, musky scent. However, its performance falls short of expectations. This one may be worth revisiting in the future.

The subjectivity of perfume preferences always fascinates me. To my nose, many of EM's scents resemble stale, aged incense, and this one has an unpleasantly pungent quality reminiscent of sharp, metallic rust, making it feel like I need to take precautions to avoid infection.

Literally just acquire ISO E Super IFF formulation from The Perfumers Apprentice, along with some undenated medical grade ethanol, and create your own blend. It has the identical scent profile. I believe they are overcharging their customers.
