The scent is as deserted and lifeless as a neglected graveyard.
This perfume is truly unappealing to me. Its scent is reminiscent of unpleasant odors, such as halitosis. I've rarely encountered a fragrance that has had the opposite effect on my senses like this one does, leaving an unmistakable sour and sharp aftertaste that's more akin to bad breath mixed with decay.
The reviewer who compared this perfume to a clean horse stable was spot on, yet it's not a negative aspect! This fragrance is an embodiment of nature, encapsulating both the beautiful and the ugly. The delicate floral notes are subtly combined with powdery undertones, alongside a wild and feral presence lurking beneath, evoking the image of a fawn hiding from a predator in a dense forest filled with tiny fragrant flowers and mottled leaves amidst mossy surroundings - not to mention the unexpected encounter with a flattened possum on your daily commute. Initially, this might seem objectively strange and disconcerting, but those who take the time to understand its nuances will discover a truly unique and captivating fragrance!
I was eager to get my hands on this perfume after reading numerous mixed reviews online. Since I've been wearing Myths Man for several months now, I was interested in comparing the two scents. From the onset, I have to say that Myths Man is still the better fragrance in my opinion, with its bold and dramatic characteristics. In contrast, Myths Woman presents a more subdued drama, reminiscent of faded Hollywood glamour. One aspect that left me underwhelmed was the perfume's relatively weak strength and longevity. It feels almost too soft and subtle for Amouage's typical style. The mossy notes dominate the fragrance, which I find fascinating due to their moldy and vegetal undertones. The floral components struggle to rise above the scent of decaying leaves. UPDATE: (I think I've finally figured it out! This perfume smells exactly like compost – a mix of grass clippings, leaves, and dead flowers decomposing in the sun.) Amouage has successfully captured the essence of faded glamour and melancholy with this fragrance. It's a sad perfume that fails to evoke the same level of vitality as Myths Man. I can't imagine most women being drawn to this scent unless they intentionally aim to convey a sense of faded glory and sadness. Most people, however, want to radiate actual glamour, vivacity, and energy. In conclusion, another captivating piece of art from Amouage that I find myself unable to resist.
Just experiencing this fragrance today while basking in the warmth on my deck, with a gentle breeze carrying scents from my lake into the air. Perhaps these conditions aren't ideal for forming an opinion- Myths presents itself as a crisp, clean scent without the overwhelming sensation of soap. If Chanel's Cristalle and Sisley's Eau de Soir had a child, I would name it Myths. I'll give it another try when I'm not lounging like a lazy feline under the sun- There's nothing unpleasant about the fragrance, but since I already own similar scents in Eau de Soir and Cristalle, I don't see a compelling reason to purchase Myths. Although, I do adore the color of the bottle, so it may still find its way onto my shelf eventually!
