This perfume trio shares a common genetic makeup, yet this Eau de Parfum outshines its predecessors in terms of duration and finish 🌞. It boasts a more subtle synthetic presence and doesn't linger with an unpleasant aftertaste on the skin, unlike Jaguar Classic Black 👍. Fresh aquatic notes make it ideal for warm summer days like today ☀️. Its opening is reminiscent of Acqua di Gio, but I find this one superior 😊. My sensory approval is a thumbs-up! 8.2/10
I acquired this scent on my 16th birthday, and remarkably, I still have some left after two years. While the aroma is unremarkable and reminiscent of numerous other blue fragrances available in the market, it does lean slightly towards synthetic notes, which isn't to my taste. The longevity is underwhelming; it fails to harmonize with my skin and occasionally feels like applying rubbing alcohol. The packaging is satisfactory, but the cap is subpar and made of plastic. The atomizer is also unsatisfactory due to its tendency to wobble excessively. Nevertheless, I consider this fragrance a suitable starting point; although not offensive in terms of scent profile, it's an affordable option for its price. Most Polo colognes share similar characteristics - cheap, decent aroma, and a good introduction to the world of fragrances. This perfume is best suited as a quick fix when you need something to wear on the go, rather than a daily staple. I'd give it 6 out of 10.
This perfume bears striking resemblance to Aqua di Gio Profumo and pre-reformulation Polo Blue EDT. It commences with subtle citrus notes, followed by a hint of herbs and patchouli. As time passes, its strength and projection increase, gradually transitioning into a dominant patchouli-leather accord, with citrus undertones providing an aquatic touch. While it's a pleasant, moderately sillage-y aquatic fragrance at around $100, I can see how those who value cost-effectiveness might not be drawn to it. As someone who enjoys the original and is willing to splurge, I'll still purchase this one. If you're already familiar with ADG Profumo, however, you may find this iteration too similar to justify owning both.
Every time I revisit this perfume in spring, it becomes clear to me how nearly flawless it is. In my opinion, RL successfully refined Blue by eliminating the unpleasant synthetic and harsh notes present in the EDT version... The bergamot opening stands out as a highlight of the differences between the two; a few spritzes are delightful at any time, whether day or night, following a workout...
It's not an exact replica of the original, but I find it reminiscent of D&G's Light Blue series, particularly Light Blue Intense without the juniper note, which is replaced by a sweet herbal midsection featuring orris and clary sage. The scent develops into a thick amberwood aroma around an hour in, although it's less potent than its D&G counterpart. I think this would be a good option for those who find Light Blue Intense too musky or overpowering. In comparison to Polo Blue EDP, the base notes are drier, although I don't detect any suede; instead, it shares similarities with Acqua di Gio's new 2022 EDP, but doesn't have much in common with the EDT version of Polo Blue.
