And another thing, I'm a huge fan of powdery scents, but unfortunately, I don't detect any powder notes in this fragrance.
I made an impulsive purchase based on the fragrance profile, only to find that my bottle doesn't capture any of the listed notes so far. Guess I'll take this as a lesson not to splurge on discounted fragrances at Marshall's - the fact that the bottle was upside down in the packaging when I opened it suggests someone else had already tampered with it.
This perfume predominantly presents itself as a clean floral fragrance on my skin, with no discernible woody, spicy, or powdery undertones. It's intensely white floral and somewhat reminiscent of older perfumes that were popular when I was younger. While it doesn't offend me, the scent is too floral and mature for my personal taste, and if it had a hint of woodiness or spice, I think I would appreciate it more.
This perfume boasts a robust aromatic and resinous character, with generous amounts of sandalwood, amber, and nutty accords present. Unfortunately, the woody and spicy facets dominate the composition to an extent that becomes overpowering, leaving a piercing sensation on my olfactory receptors. It's not a scent I personally find appealing.
All I can say here is WOW! I picked this perfume up at Marshalls for $19.99 and I've been pleasantly surprised by how many times I've overlooked it because I never cared for Obsession initially. Firstly, this fragrance stands on its own merit; I don't detect any resemblance to Obsession whatsoever. The expert blending is reminiscent of By Kilian's Sacred Wood, evoking a gorgeous, mysterious, and clean Oriental Woody scent that's almost haunting in its allure. It exudes an undeniable sexiness, making it perfect for special occasions or as a date-night fragrance.
