The disappointing experience with this perfume! Despite its decent scent (it scores a 7 out of 10 in my book), its performance leaves much to be desired (a mere 3 out of 10). Additionally, while it exhibits some versatility (earning a 7.5 out of 10), overall, I'm left feeling underwhelmed.
I think they should consider renaming it "Straight to Hell".
The scent has a distinctive wood polish-like quality to it, evoking the aroma of freshly cut tree bark. The prominent cedar and strong nutmeg notes stand out, but I'm perplexed as to why some reviewers might prefer this over the more impressive Black Phantom. In my opinion, Black Phantom is in a league of its own, surpassing this perfume by a significant margin.
I must confess that despite being against my usual preferences, I'm hopelessly enamored with this scent. Its bold, masculine quality seems incongruous with traditional feminine fragrances, yet it captivates me in an inexplicable way. The nutmeg evokes fond memories of my childhood, perhaps because it's reminiscent of the aromas commonly associated with Greek cuisine, which is a significant part of my cultural heritage. This unexpected connection makes this perfume particularly charming to me. I don't detect any rum undertones; if they're present, they're fleeting and soon replaced by the soothing cedarwood and gentle woods, which counterbalance the fragrance's boldness. I find that cedar can sometimes be overpowering, but here it adds a calming quality that I find surprisingly tender and inviting. This perfume has an extraordinary ability to transport me to a state of serenity and contentment.
I'm initially struck by a prominent floral bouquet at the beginning, which gradually transitions into a rich blend of woods, greens, and rum as it dries down. While I find the overall scent to be bold yet surprisingly smooth, I'm slightly disappointed that the fruit and boozy notes aren't more pronounced. Unfortunately, this perfume doesn't quite resonate with me, so it wouldn't be on my shopping list. 🔥
