Reviews

This fragrance has utterly captivated me. Upon application, I found myself immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of Istanbul's bustling markets, surrounded by the pungent aroma of sheep leather jackets and the sweet scent of sutzuk loukum wafting through the air. The spices and sugary treats blended together in perfect harmony, evoking the sensation of strolling along the Bosphorus Strait on a warm day. While I'm not convinced that it would be suitable for everyday wear, its potency was undeniable and transported me to another world with just one sniff. Many thanks to pixiepuff for sharing this incredible sample!

This perfume offers a very feminine take on leather, with an initial burst of fruitiness that quickly gives way to the leather notes. The apple and pomegranate perfectly balance out the masculinity of the leather, making it an unisex fragrance. I typically find heavy leather scents to be too masculine for my taste, but this one is more subtle. However, the addition of Turkish delight, sugar, and almond towards the dry down may make it too sweet for some men. The scent reminds me of a friend from Turkey whose apartment had a similar aroma, which adds to its charm. While I find Traversee du Bosphore to be enjoyable, it falls just short of being my dream fragrance. Nevertheless, I appreciate L'Artisan's ability to create scents that settle quickly and don't require an hour or two to develop. As someone who blind buys their fragrances, I'm rarely disappointed with the outcome. This perfume stays close to the body and has minimal sillage, which suits my preference for a subtle scent. It lasts around 10-12 hours on me and earns a solid 4/5 from me.

I've never had the opportunity to visit the region that inspired Duchaufour's creation of Traversee du Bosphore... Without experiencing that inspiration firsthand, I wouldn't have guessed the idea behind this scent just from smelling it. The fragrance is surprisingly sweet and I don't detect any top notes at all. From the outset, I'm hit with a strong sense of leather wrapped in an overwhelming amount of rose, sugar, and almond essence - reminiscent of the type used in baked goods. After that initial sweet punch, the scent mellowes out and settles as a sweet aura around my body, and even the leather disappears within 20 minutes. Overall, it's evocative of KM Loukhoum, but lacks its distinctiveness, resulting in an average fragrance. I enjoy it, but it doesn't quite live up to its promises.

I perceive a rich sweetness with notes of honey and nougat at the outset, followed by a subtle smokiness emerging around the middle notes. The fragrance eventually settles into a distinctive Turkish delight accord. While I don't detect any apple notes, which is somewhat disappointing. However, this perfume's ability to evoke memories of my time in Istanbul makes it a pleasant companion for me.

This perfume truly impresses me! I opened my bottle today and couldn't help but feel enthusiastic. As soon as I applied it to my skin, I found myself constantly sniffing my own arm. To my nose, Traversee du Bosphore is a very sweet and leathery fragrance with a hint of fruitiness. Initially, there's a subtle powdery note that dissipates after 10 minutes. From then on, the scent becomes a sweet gourmand leathery perfume until it eventually fades away. It stays close to the skin, but unfortunately, its longevity on the skin could be improved. I think applying it to clothing might help with this issue. In any case, Traversee du Bosphore is one of the most appealing leathery fragrances, sweet and gourmand, easy to wear and completely unisex. It's arguably the best creation from L`Artisan Parfumeur in my opinion.
