Enchanting aroma!!! A sweet vanilla treat! I've recently acquired a fresh bottle, lightly spritzed and ready to be exchanged or sold - send me a message if interested! 🎉
I tried this in-store on my wrist and it didn't quite live up to my expectations. Initially, I could barely detect any fragrance when I applied it, which was frustrating because I had high hopes for this scent. While I did catch a glimpse of the aroma, unfortunately, the sillage was unimpressive on me. It's possible that having Chocolate Greedy on the other wrist dominated my senses and made it difficult to fully appreciate the nuances of this perfume.
This perfume is incredibly delicious, with a strong gourmand presence. Whenever I apply it, I'm transported to the aroma of perfectly baked vanilla cake - it's as if the scent embodies what vanilla cake should smell like. I don't detect any cloves, but instead am met with the warm, comforting fragrance of fresh-baked cookies. The longevity is impressive, providing a steady stream of subtle whiffs throughout the day. Overall, this perfume truly impresses me!
You know, after experiencing many underwhelming gourmand perfumes that often feature an unpleasant surprise note, one tends to revisit familiar fragrances that were previously deemed average, only to rediscover and truly appreciate their craftsmanship.
This vanilla is overly sweet to me, leaning towards being cloying. While it's not unpleasant, I prefer richer, more comforting vanillas. In my opinion, it doesn't evoke a sense of warmth or coziness because the sweetness is somewhat superficial; the white sugar gives it a shallow quality reminiscent of an adolescent scent. To me, Vanille Absolu is essentially Eilish minus its spicy notes - that's how I would characterize this fragrance.
