Reviews

The top notes evoke a familiar aroma reminiscent of Eternity and Tresor blended harmoniously. As the fragrance unfolds, it gradually shifts towards a more pronounced Tresor profile, with Eternity's presence gradually diminishing. Since I'm a fan of Tresor, I find this scent to be particularly appealing and a great value for its price! 😊

I'm utterly surprised by the fragrance profile of Volupte, as all I detect is an abundance of delectable violet notes. This has consistently been my affordable go-to option for a violet scent. However, having just read reviews that claim this perfume lacks even a single note of violet, I'm left wondering... But what I do know is that Volupte is an incredibly lovely and picturesque summer fragrance that truly shines in the warmer months. It's simply delightful!

My perfume preferences align with Oscar de la Renta scents, given that Sophia Grojsman co-created Volupte; therefore, I thought it would be a reliable blind buy 😊. And indeed, it exceeded my expectations! It's a stunning blend of Esprit d'Oscar and Tresor, despite the latter not being released when Volupte was introduced. I can distinctly smell mimosa, heliotrope, freesia, and peony, as well as peach (which isn't listed, but I think it might be due to the melons). The amber, patchouli, sandalwood base is warm and heavy, while light sweet vanilla provides a subtle backing. I'm not a fan of lily of the valley, lotus, or narcissus because they can be overpowering, but the masterful blending in Volupte balances out its beauty throughout. The longevity and sillage are impressive, too! Unlike some nineties perfumes, which can feel dated, Volupte stands out with its structure, presence, and timelessness. It's perfect for anyone who enjoys it, regardless of age or season. I wear what makes me happy, so I apply it lightly to make it office-friendly. It shines in hot summer weather and I'm excited to enjoy it in fall and winter too! Volupte is a big love for me - I'll be ordering a backup 😍.

Sophia Grojsman's innovative approach to perfumery is truly remarkable, as she has a unique ability to craft something extraordinary from simple notes. I recall my initial skepticism towards her peaches after experiencing Tresor, but those doubts have long since dissipated. Today, I'm devoted to collecting her creations, and I'm blown away by her talent with every new discovery. When applying Volupte, I approached it with caution, given my dislike of melon/watermelon notes in fragrances. However, Sophia Grojsman's reputation preceded her, so I decided to trust the process. And oh, what a revelation! The scent is like a burst of huge yellow mimosa flowers, with a tickly, zesty quality that elevates and shines. It's as if wearing a bright yellow scarf behind my shoulders, leaving trails and causing people to wonder. The fragrance has a floating green layer of mimosa, underpinned by bitter spicy notes from narcissus and carnation, velvety undertones from lotus and peony, and an ozonic-fresh quality that makes me feel like I'm standing outside on a windy day, even in a dark room with closed blinds. It's truly amazing!

Maybe these vintage fragrances would be more tolerable if they were released in smaller quantities, say half the amount we're used to today. 💔
