This perfume embodies the essence of femininity with its soft, powdery-honey character that lingers elegantly on the skin with a subtle trail. Upon application, I'm enveloped in an airy cloud of refined powder, harmoniously intertwined with sweet honey and vanilla accords. As the fragrance dries down, it reveals a captivating blend of delicate powder, honey, and vanilla, leaving me craving more.
Normally, I have a soft spot for white and yellow florals, and this perfume initially delighted me. Ylang-ylang is also a fragrance note I typically enjoy, as it tends to complement my skin chemistry nicely. However, the more time passed, the more unbearable this scent became. Ultimately, it left me with a headache. The only association that comes to mind when I think of this perfume is a stale, stuffy bedroom at an elderly care facility - too cloying and overpowering, with an overwhelming presence of choking powder.
This fragrance to me evokes a creamy yellow floral rendition of Chanel No. 5 L'Eau.
Fabulous interpretation of the nineties glam floral trend! Kilian perfumes are remarkably easy to wear. To me, this scent is reminiscent of a subtle blend between Chanel Allure and Guerlain L'Instant, with a hint of Samsara, all distilled into a transparent fragrance infused with sparkling vanilla. Once it settles, it leaves behind an enchanting, mysterious aura that's quintessentially feminine. The name, however, doesn't quite fit the bill; this is a scent designed for a woman to wear for herself, not some cookie-loving guy or someone looking for a primal, animalistic experience. I don't think fragrances are inherently gendered, but one can easily imagine a sophisticated lady wearing this to the opera – a far cry from the name's connotations. This could be rebranded as "Woman in Platinum" and would suit a retro fashion enthusiast or even make a great gift for one's mother (making the current name even more awkward). Imagine presenting this to a woman in her fifties or sixties, complete with the elegant bottle and name – what a missed opportunity!
