Reviews

"There’s a heavy dose of tuberose here. It really channels the spirit of Madonna’s Truth or Dare. As it dries down, it introduces hints of honey and neroli. This one’s best suited for those who love bold, big white floral scents."

This perfume reminds me of a mix between Madonna's Truth or Dare and Micallef's Ananda Dolce. It’s incredibly strong and atomic right from the get-go. The tuberose is upfront and quite powdery, with that familiar peach note I recognize from other scents in this house. While I’m not a fan of peach perfumes, the florals here are pleasant enough, and the ylang definitely stands out. The scent is thick and sumptuous, transitioning into a creamy, buttery texture before fruity notes with vanilla kick in, evoking the feel of baked goods. It’s undeniably beautiful, but it feels unbalanced—too overpowering initially and then fading too quickly into a skin scent. The peach note is unfortunately not my thing, making this one a bit hard to enjoy despite its moments of brilliance.

It reminds me of Zizi—those sugary puffed rice candies you can find in Hungary or other places. I actually enjoy it because it brings back memories. It's definitely sugary, gourmand, and a bit synthetic. It feels like typical bubblegum tuberose but with enough sweet vanilla to lean into the gourmand category. The other notes are escaping me, though—it’s almost like opening a bag of Zizi. If you're in the UK and into swapping samples, let me know!

If I were to judge based solely on the notes, this perfume feels like a shoo-in for me. Micallef's quality is top-notch, and the blend of tuberose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, and musk should be a winning combination. It’s like that perfect checklist boyfriend—impeccable in every way, treating you like royalty, and adoring your quirks. He has all the right ingredients to be the ideal partner. BUT... it doesn’t quite do it for me. The bottle is stunning, definitely a Micallef masterpiece, but once you unwrap it, there’s this overpowering bubblegum vibe that sticks around stubbornly. I can’t quite figure out where this fruity, candy-like note is coming from. It’s strange because different websites have conflicting notes—some say peony and no tuberose, others include tuberose without the peony. Honestly, it smells like tuberose at first, but after checking my wardrobe for any Tuberculosis suspects, I’m pretty sure there’s some identity theft going on here—it’s like tuberose, but not quite. It’s a delicious fruit-candy scent that isn’t overly sweet, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a strong tuberose fragrance.

I came across this fragrance that really opened my eyes to how much I dislike bubblegum tuberose. I purchased it during a Micallef sale for £35, and at first sniff, it reminded me a bit of Kilian's LDBS. But then it quickly shifted into this thick, strong, bubblegum tuberose scent that I couldn't stand. It felt overpowering and very off-putting. The perfume itself had a mature, almost "perfumey" vibe, which just made the experience worse. It also had an intense sillage that was really annoying. On the plus side, it has a premium feel with natural ingredients, and the thickness and full-bodied nature gave it impressive projection and long-lasting wearability. However, this is definitely not a dupe for LDBS—it’s more like a bold, unique take on tuberose.
