Reviews

I'd really like to appreciate this perfume more. On paper, the ingredients have all the makings of a standout, but unfortunately, it falls short, being pleasantly floral yet somewhat underwhelming. While I enjoy the nuances of mignonette, nectarine, and rose, I find myself needing to apply it liberally to even notice its presence. In my opinion, this fragrance would be perfect for someone with a youthful, porcelain complexion, seeking to blend into the background while still being mildly alluring.

I acquired this perfume mid-autumn as a self-indulgent treat during the holiday season, and I'm thrilled that I made the purchase. As a devout fan of Burberry's aesthetic, this fragrance didn't disappoint. Burberry Weekend has emerged as my new go-to scent. It strikes an impeccable balance between sophistication and sensuality, avoiding both subtlety and overabundance. The aroma is reminiscent of a lush floral garden with warm woody notes and just the right amount of succulent fruitiness. Its versatility allows it to be worn at any hour or season. One of my standout Burberry fragrances.

I don't own the one in the new packaging, but I recently tried it out having previously owned the older domed bottle with the flat bottom. I've noticed while reading reviews that people who purchased the newer version often express their dislike by saying "I'm not sure about this because the new bottle is just so unattractive to me, I can't wear this now." It seems like a peculiar notion - that the packaging affects the actual scent. Formulations change frequently without significantly altering the fragrance, as my own experiences attest. To me, it appears unchanged. So, for others who may detect differences, consider these potential factors affecting your skin's pH, which can alter how a scent is perceived: 1. Hormonal fluctuations (particularly after pregnancy or menopause) 2. Changes in diet 3. Medication taken or previously taken (including birth control/hormone therapy) 4. Stress levels For me, this always reminds me of Champs Élysée by Guerlain, whether in the old or new packaging. Perhaps some didn't find it as impressive as Burberry's other scents because it was designed to be understated, laid-back, and relaxing - perfect for a weekend break from the week's chaos. Not every fragrance needs to be dramatic or overpowering; this one can help calm others and create a sense of ease. If people are drawn to you when wearing it, that might be why - they feel comfortable in your presence. Regarding the bottle design, while minimalist, its aim is to evoke relaxation and simplicity. As long as the fragrance remains unchanged, which I perceive to be the case, the packaging is acceptable. It's not a cheap, utilitarian design; so, let's just relax and enjoy the weekend!

The scent presents an alluring, robust introduction, accompanied by a gentle, carefree floral quality reminiscent of soap. However, upon application to my skin, the fragrance takes an unexpected turn, morphing into a peculiar, slightly tart note that ultimately loses its presence within three hours.

Experienced a sample once and it was an overwhelming blend of bold synthetic notes, unpleasant sour nectarine (a note that's not growing on me), and overpowering powdery violets. Not exactly the scent I'd want to indulge in on a leisurely weekend getaway.
