The vanilla note in this perfume during its mid-dry down phase bears a striking resemblance to Dior Addict.
This MK fragrance stands out as the only one I own from the brand, and I find it to be quite distinctive. To me, it embodies that intense, floral, classy bitterness reminiscent of Givenchy's Amarige and Dior's Addict – iconic statement fragrances of the 90's. The unusual blend of jasmine, carnation, heliotrope, benzoin, milky almond, and vanilla is both unexpected and strikingly strong and refined. I'm particularly fond of the powdery jasmine notes in this fragrance.
Beautiful fragrance, it's a refined iteration of Sexy Amber. While Sexy Amber is youthful and vibrant, this one presents itself as its more mature counterpart, boasting increased complexity and refinement. She exudes an air of sophistication and poise, with a timeless quality that commands respect. A true gem, she embodies the elegance of a trophy wife without letting her status consume her.
The jasmine note in this perfume is overpowering, rendering it a quintessential white floral scent in my opinion. From the onset, I'm met with a potent jasmine aroma that dominates the top notes before gradually giving way to a subtle creamy almond milk nuance. While not an unpleasant fragrance and boasting decent longevity, unfortunately, its strong floral undertones are not to my personal liking. Despite wanting to connect with this perfume, I found myself repeatedly disappointed by its overpowering floral presence.
Upon reading the notes, I initially had reservations about this fragrance, but surprisingly, it won me over. At first sniff, I was struck by the bergamot, which dominated my senses, masking any other scents. The pink pepper was nowhere to be found, a blessing in disguise as I'm not fond of peppery fragrances. As it dried down, Wonderlust transformed into a sun-kissed, beachy scent with a subtle muskiness. During this time, I was on the hunt for V&R's discontinued Salty Flower, and Wonderlust's powdery, sunblocky notes had me convinced it was a sweeter cousin. Now, it's one of my top picks. This fragrance effortlessly conjures up feelings of a luxurious beach escape. Even without knowing about its video campaign, I sensed "fancy sailboat + cocktails" vibes. There's an undeniable oceany quality to Wonderlust, despite the lack of saltiness. On my skin, Wonderlust yields a powdery fresh linen scent with sweet and musky undertones, reminiscent of Salty Flower. The almonds seem to make an appearance throughout the fragrance, lending it a creamy sweetness. If I hadn't known better, I would've sworn they were in the middle and base notes. My only criticism is that Wonderlust has a disappointingly short longevity – it vanishes within an hour or so. Considering its price tag, I expected more endurance. To remedy this, I layer it with Juliette Has a Gun- Not a Perfume, which adds depth, complexity, and prolongs the fragrance's life by threefold.
