I recently embarked on an experiment where I explored perfumes from my mother's collection, including Yellow Diamond, which holds a special significance as her signature scent. While she wears it throughout the year, I believe its citrusy notes truly shine in spring and summer. Don't be deterred by the fact that this perfume is part of my mom's collection; it doesn't have that dated "old lady" aroma. Instead, it presents itself as VERY citrusy at first, but gradually dries down to reveal sweeter, floral undertones. Unlike some reviewers who detect a shampoo-like quality, I find Yellow Diamond to be reminiscent of Marc Jacobs' Daisy, with a more mature and refined character.

I have to concur with those who weren't impressed by the fragrance. Upon initial application, I didn't find anything captivating or alluring about it, and this lack of allure persisted even after the scent had dried down. In fact, I share the sentiment that it had a somewhat antiquated quality, reminiscent of something from years gone by, although I couldn't quite pinpoint what specifically. Overall, I wasn't fond of the fragrance and ultimately parted with it.

Lemony, summertime rendition of the Versace Crystal sisters' essence. These fragrances aren't over-the-top complex or transformative signature scents, yet they're undoubtedly pleasant crowd-pleasers that evoke a sense of joy. Initially, this perfume presents itself like Starbucks lemon loaf - crisp and gentle lemon notes, followed by a fruity musk that showcases the freshness of fresia, water lily, and general white floral bliss. It's an uplifting scent, perfect for sizzling summer days, but might feel incongruous during chilly winter months (unless you're intentionally seeking that "transport me to another time and place" atmosphere). The mimosa notes here are particularly impressive - they infuse the lemon and flowers with a youthful, effervescent quality. This perfume would make an excellent gift or blind purchase.

For some reason, all this time I've been dismissing Versace Crystal perfumes. I think I sniffed one years ago and, for unknown reasons, decided they were all unpleasant. However, OMG what a treasure this one is! It arrived in a sample box and I randomly tried it; before I even got the tester stick to my nose, I was like "I need a bottle immediately." This perfume smells incredibly fresh, bright, youthful, and fun. It makes me want to venture out and be adventurous. The blend of specific fruits and florals is impeccable. It's an instant happy-go-lucky mood boost after taking a sniff. And that's coming from someone who has been struggling with depression for 4 years, so I definitely think that's amazing.

I adore the scent whenever I visit my Auntie Dora.
