I acquired the Youth Dew because I was intrigued by its iconic aroma. On the whole, it's a pleasant fragrance that bears some resemblance to an androgynous rendition of Aramis. This is an oakmoss-centric scent with a sweet cola accord. The longevity is consistent with most vintage fragrances. In my opinion, it has a unisex quality to it. However, I wouldn't recommend this scent as it may come across as overly dated; it's only suitable for those who appreciate classic perfumes.

Here is the rewritten comment: I acquired a decant (current formulation) to test this legendary scent. As I sit here on this mild fall evening, I'm drawn to the idea of sipping chamomile tea alongside it. While it's not as intense as I was led to believe, its longevity is truly impressive. The overall effect is calming and soothing. I detect an herbal broth and floral notes with a subtle presence of indole. Narcissus and Cassia take center stage before fading away like steam from a warm bath.

I agree with your initial reaction to Youth Dew, which was similar to mine. As a result, I suggest trying this perfume frequently on a tester strip whenever possible. Why? The scent catches up with you eventually! Additionally, once the initial shock wore off, I felt confident enough to apply it to skin or fabric, allowing me to experience the dry down. The dry down is where the magic lies! It has a unisex quality and is incredibly alluring - like Wonder Woman as a mother figure? This is truly amazing stuff. If you're drawn to the notes but not the scent, even after repeated testing, consider trying Cinnabar! In my opinion, it's essentially Youth Dew Light with its own cult following.
