Amor Amor Forbidden Kiss

This perfume presented itself as intriguing, with a blend of notes that appealed to me, but unfortunately, when I tested it, all I detected was a strong, sweet scent reminiscent of Amor Amor. Notably absent were the coffee, vanilla, and frangipani notes I had expected.

This perfume is absolutely divine! It shares a similar scent profile with Love Potion from Oriflame, except for the unpleasant ginger note which I'm not fond of. Although we're currently in summer, I believe this fragrance will still be lovely and even more so during winter ❄️. I'd give it a well-deserved 5/5 stars! 👏

The perfume is overpowering and overly rich in scent, with a cloying sweetness that overwhelms my senses. The dominant notes are so prominent that they feel almost oppressive.

I am absolutely enamored with the original Amor Amor and stumbled upon this variant on Fragrantica, which features vanilla, coffee, and frangipani as top notes – all of which are my go-to scents. I tried it in-store today, and initially, it was lovely; I could detect the coffee and vanilla nuances with a subtle citrus introduction within the first 10 minutes. However, as it dried down, it strikingly resembled Amor Amor, so I'm not convinced that it's worth purchasing for me since I already have the original. The only drawback is that the original Amor Amor tends to linger much longer on my skin, whereas this one lost its scent after 1.5 hours.

I'm testing this fragrance while sipping on Kahlua with milk, which seems ironic given my high expectations from this coffee-dominant scent, especially since I love coffee-flavored things. To be honest, I don't have strong feelings towards Amor Amor Forbidden Kiss - it's neither a favorite nor a dislike. My main issue is that the fruity notes overpower the coffee accord on my skin, making them clash and giving off a sour grapefruit smell. This fragrance is quite heavy and suitable for cooler seasons. It has elements of gourmand and fruity floral. If you enjoy fragrances like Paco Rabanne's Black XS for Women, Carolina Herrera's 212 VIP for Women or Diesel's Loverdose, you'll likely appreciate Amor Amor Forbidden Kiss. I was hoping it would evoke the richness and decadence of Thierry Mugler Angel, but unfortunately, it doesn't quite reach that level. On a positive note, it's easy to wear and has a unique composition. Occasionally, I catch a whiff of sour cherry blending with coffee beans during its drydown. Although I may not buy a full bottle, I'll enjoy the rest of my sample. Considering the affordable price, this fragrance is worth taking another look at.
