Chloé (Parfums Chloé)

I've been pondering replacing my impulsive purchase from a few years ago; while aimlessly browsing through the chemist, I stumbled upon a bottle of Chloe and decided to take a chance without trying it first.

This perfume is quite overpowering. I purchased it blind from Saks Off Fifth Avenue. It reminds me of those timeless perfumes that one's grandmother might wear, which continue to linger indefinitely. In fact, my aunt wore a similar scent. To be honest, the fragrance itself was so overwhelming that I couldn't even identify its notes - I just couldn't tolerate the smell. After spraying it a few times and allowing it to sit in my perfume collection for a couple of years, I decided to leave it on the hallway with a note saying "feel free to take it".

Monster projection and staying power! Although this perfume can evoke a "grandmotherly" scent, to me, it exudes a pleasant warmth that wraps you in comfort. A timeless classic with an overwhelming floral presence, yet surprisingly gentle and cozy. I must apply it sparingly for evening outings due to its richness.

This perfume is overwhelmingly harsh, dominating, and intense, departing significantly from the softer, richer qualities of its related scents.

My childhood memories are flooded when I purchased a sample vial, gifted by my mom, who gave me her little bottle of Chloé years ago. While many individual notes resonate with me (Honeysuckle, Hyacinth, Lilac, Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Bergamot, Coconut, Rose), this experience didn't quite match what I expected. For some reason, it smelled more like a sweet cola blend with floral undertones in my mind, which might seem jarring but somehow resonates as soft, feminine, and pretty. The overall experience left me underwhelmed.
