👀 Absolutely stunning! This perfume shares the same league as classic scents like Coco, Habanita, and Opium. It's incredibly concentrated with a harmonious blend of heavy notes that don't clash, instead creating a long-lasting, narcotic oriental accord. The amber and tuberose give it a sweet character, while the subtle civet-like element adds a rich, dark chocolate depth without overpowering the scent. While I wouldn't wear this every day due to its bold nature, I'd love to own a travel-sized version - it's a fragrance that would last me a lifetime! 😊

I finally got the chance to try this fragrance after craving it for a long time, and I'm pleased to say that it didn't let me down. While some may find it less animalistic than expected from the brand and perfume name, I think it's perfectly wearable and won't become unpleasant. To my untrained nose, the civet and resins take center stage, with flowers playing a noticeable but secondary role. The sweet notes are present but subtle, overwhelmed by the intensity of the civet. Although I appreciate civet as a perfume, I'm not sure if I'll purchase it regularly due to its strong character. I recently tried Sarah Baker's jungle jezebel and found it similar in drydown, although with more interesting fruity notes from banana and gum. It projects less than this Zoologist fragrance, making it more wearable but also leaving me torn between the two options. If I had to choose, I'd likely opt for the full bottle of jungle jezebel due to its unique character.

This perfume exudes a commanding presence reminiscent of Amouage's signature style, had I not known its origin, I would have assumed it was from that same potent line. Upon application, I'm struck by the prominent tuberose note, which is swiftly followed by resins, cardamom, carnation, and ylang-ylang. Notably, the civet is surprisingly subtle, requiring some patience to detect; however, its nuances are more apparent after a half-hour of wear. The coffee and oakmoss elements add an intriguing depth and texture to the overall composition, elevating the other notes with their unique characteristics. This scent is best suited for cooler weather and, not surprisingly, it boasts a strong unisex appeal. Moderate sillage and longevity are also noteworthy features of this perfume.

As the scent develops, tuberose meets coffee, and their union gives rise to a carnal, skanky civet note. When I wore it again with a more typical number of sprays, the result was a comfortable, discreetly projecting fragrance that smells distinctive yet classy. I've never come across anything like this before, and I expect to wear it frequently due to its uniqueness and wearability. This was my first Zoologist perfume, and I'm excited to explore more from this brand.
