I'm torn about this fragrance; initially, I thought its scent was more masculine, only to realize it's actually unisex gem that I couldn't get enough of. The aroma is incredibly captivating, with sweet aquatic notes, a heavy dose of citrus, and subtle tropical undertones. While I wish it lingered longer on the skin, for $20, I'm more than willing to overlook this minor flaw.
I stumbled upon this perfume on a YouTube video where Ksenja enthusiastically praised its allure. Indeed, she was spot on! This scent exudes freshness and sensuality, citrusy zestiness and sultry charm, all while maintaining an air of luxury at an affordable $20 from TJ Maxx – a remarkable value! While it's ideally suited for spring or summer, I must confess that I'm so enamored with it that I might wear it during the winter months as well. Interestingly, my husband, who often finds fault with my perfume preferences due to their saccharine sweetness, genuinely appreciated this one – and its lack of cloying sweetness is a major plus for me!
It's indeed an excellent perfume! My first purchase was back in 2008 during my trip to England, where I thoroughly enjoyed its lovely aroma. I recently repurchased it in 2023, and I'm thrilled that I did so. This fragrance is particularly well-suited for spring and summer occasions.
For me, the perfume evokes a festive atmosphere reminiscent of Christmas garlands made from pine needles, possibly due to the reported presence of red juniper. I enjoyed the opening notes, which featured citrus fruits that really resonated with me. However, it's the dry down that doesn't convince me and feels stale and outdated. Given the presence of orchid, I was expecting a more sensual perfume, but this one falls short for me. The amber note seems overpowering, giving off an old-man vibe that feels more masculine than feminine. While I appreciate the unisex brands from this company, this particular scent leans more towards masculinity in my opinion. Ultimately, fragrance preferences are subjective and varied, making each person's nose unique.
I initially found it underwhelming. If you're familiar with Calvin Klein's Eternity Summer fragrances, then you'll notice the similarities. I'm a fan of airy, sunny citrus and light, watery florals. Compared to my Guess Dare, CKin2U has a more unisex quality.
