I am a huge fan of vanilla fragrances, and this definitely is a huge love for me! It's a truly, as Montale calls it, dark vanilla, with an amazing balance of vanilla, leather and oud/wood combination. Espeically the beginning remains spicy and woody, as it turns towards a vanilla-front fragrance. The vanilla is not as bright and loud as in many other vanilla fragrance and is so smooth. Beautiful! Performance and sillage for me is also amazing! Rating: 9/10 - Amazing!
I have a decant of Mancera Vanilla Aoud and I was considering on whether I would buy the full size or not, since I've been looking for good vanilla/oud fragrances. And then I emded up blind buying this based on the fragrantica reviews. I'm glad I went with this instead. Even though I like the Mancera bottles better and you get a little more juice too - but I find this one to be very similar, but a little smoother and in the direction I wanted. Very nice. Also, I prefer this to Vertus' Vanilla Oud (I picked up an apple cider vinegar note in that one) and I also prefer this to Kayali's Oud Vanilla too (it wears closer to the skin and is more powdery/musky).
Montale never fails to disappoint. Every perfume i ever got from them was worth its price and this one is no exception. It quite similar in scent formula to the whole montale family, obviously heavier on vanilla than rose usually. Worth noting that patchouli is quite prominent here especially in the opening (dry down is where vanilla shines). The way the brand executes vanilla is also excellent - not repetitive but always spot on. Big big fan - and it has fantastic performance. 10/10
smell exactly like zafeer oud vanille in my opinion. warm vanilla and leather and that"s all. good projection and longevity (+12H on clothes) i am a woman and to my nose this is a mix perfume men and women can wear it. the color of the bottle is pretty
Dark vanilla really does smell dark, like the vanilla was paired with something slightly dirty and musty, like swampy waters but in the best way possible. I love most vanillas, but this is not my favorite.
