This is an aromatic delight! A robust and lively opening that transported me to a sun-drenched country estate on a peak summer afternoon, where fresh green notes, reminiscent of juicy tomato leaf and natural basil, take center stage.
Upon opening this fragrance, I'm greeted by notes of fresh and bitter herbaceousness with no sweetness, reminiscent of tomato leaves and musk. I detect subtle citrus undertones from lemon and bergamot, accompanied by the earthy nuances of thyme and mint. As it settles in, a soft, sweet warmth emerges, underscored by the richness of amber and the dampness of oakmoss. The overall impression is akin to Eau de Rochas Homme, but with a decidedly unisex appeal. Notably, there's an underlying sporty aftershave quality that doesn't particularly resonate with me. Nevertheless, it exhibits decent longevity, lasting around six hours on the skin. ⛤⛤⛤
Green notes abound! Not a hint of sweetness in sight. This scent is perfect for those focused on mental tasks or seeking a refreshing pick-me-up during hot summer days.
I tried Eau de Campagne and was moderately unimpressed 😐. While I acknowledge that it's a lovely fragrance, I was expecting more of the garden freshness from tomato leaf. Instead, I detected a classic 70s fougere vibe, similar to Irish Spring 🌿. The strong notes of oakmoss and basil made me feel like Azzaro pour Homme is essentially on par with Eau de Campagne for my taste buds 😐.
One of the most exceptional green fragrances I've had the pleasure to experience is Eau de Campagne, which embodies refinement and joy in its essence, featuring a vibrant living tomato leaf note, fresh grassy galbanum, and aromatic basil. The vetiver expertly grounds it all, providing balance. This scent would be perfect for outdoor occasions, such as a nature walk or picnic, where it harmonizes with the natural surroundings rather than overpowering them. Its subtle character allows for generous application without overwhelming the senses. Overall, Eau de Campagne is a bright and timeless delight, earning a well-deserved 10/10 from me.
