L'Instant de Guerlain

To me, this fragrance exudes happiness and sunshine! The scent initially bursts with fizzy, sparkly fruit notes before transitioning into a white floral realm, where Ylang-Ylang and Magnolia take center stage alongside deep amber honey. Although it's not a traditional gourmand, it still smells delectable on the skin. While potent upon initial application, the fragrance maintains its strength for approximately 5-6 hours. I draw some parallels with Lancôme's 'Hypnôse', although this one is less sharp and sweet.

Any other perfume enthusiasts experience the juniper notes in this scent? On paper, it's impressive, yet when applied to my skin, I detect a peculiar resemblance to fine gin, which isn't necessarily unpleasant but might not be what I'm looking for. The blend of gin and powder is an unusual one 🤔

Based on the fragrance notes and reviews, and my positive experience with recent Guerlain purchases, I took a chance on this one without sampling it first. I had high expectations - a sweet, fruity oriental floral that would dry down with a powdery puff. Exactly what I was looking for. So I gave in to the temptation and blind bought it. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to its promise. Something just doesn't feel right about it. First of all, it's much too subtle - gone in an instant, and poorly balanced. The fruit is barely perceptible, the vanilla is hiding, the honey is overpowering, and yes, there is a powdery finish, but it's a light, bland powder that leaves nothing else behind. It's pleasant and easy to wear almost anywhere. I was simply expecting something more impressive. I crave being wowed - this just didn't cut it for me.

L'instant is an overpowering yet captivating fragrance. Another blind purchase that yielded exceptional results. Its radiant, airy, crisp, and powdery essence is incredibly easy to appreciate. I'm thrilled to have it in my perfume collection. Nonetheless, if forced to select between this and L'instant Magic, I would unequivocally opt for Magic.

I have a strong affinity for this perfume, which features a refined blend of subtle, honey-scented flowers and rich, velvety vanillas. This fragrance is ideally suited for a discerning woman who embodies poise and intellectual curiosity, making it an excellent choice for everyday wear. Any woman who appreciates sweet white florals that avoid cloyingness should definitely consider giving this perfume a try – I assure you won't be disappointed with the result.
