Unfortunately, the oud note morphs into fireplace ash when applied to my skin. Since my sister is currently going through a phase with SL's latest releases, I've been getting 20ml decants of each new one. Regrettably, my sensitivity means I can only detect ashes, so others may want to try before buying if they're prone to similar reactions with oud-based perfumes.

I indulged in this perfume after getting a decant, and now it's the one I reach for when I'm exploring the woods to the soundtracks of Type O Negative or My Dying Bride, among other reasons. While simplistic, it has an enchanting quality that draws me in. The scent doesn't undergo significant changes on my skin, but its charm is undeniable. The blend of rich labdanum, wood, roses, and oranges makes it hard to resist if you appreciate woody church-style fragrances. What sets it apart for me is its lack of excessive sweetness, unlike many similar scents. It's equally enjoyable in October or June, and I find it surprisingly suitable for summer due to its subtle sweetness. The overall impression is one of empowerment and beauty. As for comparisons, I don't see a strong resemblance to Laudano Nero, which is sweeter and more boozy, lacking the sophistication this fragrance offers.

This perfume exudes a scent reminiscent of red hots candies mixed with heated copper. However, before forming an opinion, I think it's essential to detach from any preconceived notions, just like I'd do by rebranding it 'Mick Jagger's Mouth', which seems to fit its vibe. The opening is indeed dramatic, but it eventually settles into something cozy and recognizable, making this a unique composition that caught my attention. Notably, I find it more suited for men - a bit of a drag, perhaps? Nevertheless, I think it's worth exploring! 🔥

I concur with Birnam_Wood05/15/21 11:33, as I also detect a distinct absence of Oud in this perfume, yet I'm struck by the prevalence of dried fruits, dates, and maple syrup notes accompanied by subtle rum or whiskey undertones. It's indeed impressive to craft such an unusual blend...

This scent evokes memories of forgotten pages and dusty bookshelves.
