I'm thrilled that I took a chance on this perfume. Initially, I was put off by the green apple note when it launched; typically, I'm not fond of that particular scent and worried it would result in a dull, shampoo-like fragrance similar to Be Delicious. Luckily, I found a good deal online and decided to give it a try. To my surprise, I don't detect any green apple at all, only the sublime violet and mimosa notes that have become my new obsession. The packaging is exquisite, and this is indeed an elegant, makeup-inspired fragrance. Although it may not be particularly potent, I'm happy to reapply as needed.

I recall the original Meteorites, staying true to Guerlain's makeup and name, offering a powdery-sweet Belle Époque violet that exudes nostalgia yet remains light and timeless enough to transcend time and become a practical cosmetic product. However, this new version is too citrusy, too fruity, and too sharp for me to consider romantic; its violet note has adapted to the present but lost its essence in the process. The original Meteorites was something I could easily picture in Lorette's boudoir or imagine Carmen would happily wear as her signature scent, but this new version falls short, leaving no lasting impression.

This perfume fell short of my expectations with its lackluster strength. Despite having pleasant violet and intriguing green notes, the overall impact was diminished by a poor projection and longevity.

I've seen reviews on this fragrance that suggest it bears little resemblance to pearls. Therefore, I've chosen to wait until I can try it out before making a purchase. From the descriptions, I'm anticipating a sweet, fruity, and aquatic scent akin to Rosa Pop or Pear. Update: Despite my initial reservations, I ended up purchasing it, as it seems more like a fun, playful splash than an actual perfume.

As a preteen in 1992, I would meticulously adorn every inch of my room, including the ceiling, with pages from W Magazine. One striking advertisement caught my eye - Guerlain Meteorites, and I was captivated by its beauty. My mother surprisingly agreed to grant my wish, and I treasured that golden box containing pastel pearls as if it were a treasure trove. Later, while reminiscing about this memory with my brother during last Christmas' festivities, I thought, "Wouldn't it be amazing if there was a perfume that replicated its scent?" Lo and behold, I stumbled upon this very perfume online, and I almost fainted in excitement! I couldn't contain my enthusiasm, and my brother gifted it to me for Christmas. To my delight, it smells identical to my cherished memory - reminiscent of C. Howard's Violet Candy. Unfortunately, the lasting power is woefully short-lived, lasting only a few minutes before vanishing into thin air. I've taken to cherishing it like diamonds, reapplying it every time it wears off, as applying it excessively would deplete my resources rapidly. I reserve it for bedtime after a shower, savoring its fleeting presence in the evening hours. It's not suitable for daytime wear due to its ephemeral nature. Curiously, I'd love to discover another perfume akin to this one (not a discontinued product). While Marc Jacobs Daisy comes closest, featuring the same violet note, it still doesn't quite match my expectations.
