Listen. You have to really appreciate the uniqueness of orange to splurge on this fragrance. Fortunately, I do. And I've been searching for a fresh, straightforward, inoffensive, and likable scent - something that's not too complex or overwhelming. In my opinion, Orange Sanguine delivers exactly that and more. It's the best blood orange fragrance I've come across so far. The scent is linear, with a burst of realistic blood orange citrus at the opening, which gradually mellows down to an orange creamsicle skin scent. While its silage and projection are mild, I think it has respectable longevity. When I wear it, I can still smell it on my skin and hair the next day, even when my partner leans in for a surprise kiss - he can too. Is it worth the price point? In my opinion, it's overpriced at $209 with tax, especially considering Atelier Cologne is a high-end designer label. However, this perfume ticks all the boxes required for me to buy a full bottle: I'm obsessed with the scent, it brings something unique and interesting to my collection, and the bottle is aesthetically pleasing to me. Honestly? I see this one being a fresh signature scent of mine for years to come... also, it's perfectly unisex and ageless, so points on inclusivity.
This perfume is incredibly alluring to me. It commences with an invigorating zest of freshly peeled orange, subsequently unfolding into a lovely fresh floral bouquet that harmonizes impeccably with the citrus, before evolving much later into a dry, slightly bitter orange accord accompanied by woody notes. Initially, it exudes a very fresh and feminine character, whereas in its dry down, it assumes a drier and more masculine tone. I've found this fragrance to pair exceptionally well with vanilla, yielding a delightful creamsicle-at-the-beach aura when layered with Vanilla Vibes by JHAG. Additionally, it boasts impressive sillage and longevity, often garnering compliments whenever I wear it.
Immediately, the scent strikes you with a bold blood orange aroma that feels surprisingly natural. As it settles, it reveals a sweeter aspect, reminiscent of sprinkling brown sugar over the fruit – much like how I enjoyed grapefruit as a child. The ensuing creamy sweetness, subtly infused with vanilla notes, harmonizes beautifully with the citrusy elements, creating a flavor profile that's both tantalizingly edible and fresh. Despite not typically gravitating towards gourmand fragrances, I find this 'edibility' aspect utterly charming due to its gentle and sincere nature.
A refreshing experience reminiscent of a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. While I don't typically follow the fragrance opinions of Jeremyfragrance, his perspective on this scent piqued my interest and prompted me to try it out. This perfume is not about receiving praise or being practical; instead, it's meant to be savored for its perfumery artistry. It bears a resemblance to Dior Homme Cologne, albeit in a niche capacity. I would recommend this to perfume enthusiasts who collect unique fragrances, but for those without such an interest, I'd advise allocating their budget towards other scents that offer better value.
Boom! This perfume instantly transports you to a blood orange scenario. To my surprise, it's remarkably realistic. Although I don't personally connect with it – the scent keeps evoking the taste of an extremely tart orange – I acknowledge its authenticity. For those who relish bold citrus fragrances, this is undoubtedly the real deal. On a personal note, I find the sweetness of Clementine California more appealing, but it's also somewhat one-dimensional for my taste.
