I wouldn't take the plunge without doing some research first. This scent boasts a strong vetiver presence, making it suitable for both men and women with its woody, floral notes of rose. While I appreciate how it dries down smoothly, I find that it takes on a more masculine character by the end.
Too intense for my taste. Santal 33 is actually a standout in Le Labo's collection.
So I was initially thrilled about this perfume based on its description, but upon receiving the sample, I'm struck by how strongly it leans towards Iso E Super, almost to the point where the other notes are overpowered - specifically the subtle presence of rose. To achieve a similar scent profile at a lower price point, I'd recommend combining Encre Noir with a touch of tea rose.
Unfortunately, the prominent cumin note in this perfume renders it utterly unappealing to me. It essentially becomes a melancholic, florally-oriented iteration of Aesop's Rozo.
I was offered a sample at Nordstrom, and upon trying it, I was blown away... This perfume truly shines. The lovely and airy rose fragrance captivated me to the extent that I couldn't get enough of its alluring aroma. However, when I went to purchase a bottle, the exorbitant price tag significantly dampened my enthusiasm.
