You couldn't possibly expect the profile of the juice you get in this bottle. Didn't have the best reaction to it at first, still working on figuring out whether I like it or not. Only reason I can see people missing the passionfruit is because of the grapefruit note listed and how they seem to meld together so well. Very pulpy kinda experience that caught me off guard. Smells like you spilled some passionfruit on a new leather seat. And in that regard, I do agree it does lean in that "new car smell" direction. Makes it challenging to wear for sure. It performs like Ani, you won't stop smelling it if you spray it on your arms, chest or neck. Which honestly isn't helping me like it any more. It's like if ombre leather actually went too sweet. I feel like the choice of a sweeter saffron compared to something more dry and spicy wasn't the best choice here as it just ends up being too much to my nose. Which is weird because I love Ambra Calabria and that's undoubtedly sweeter, maybe more along the tangy side. I think the terminology I'm looking for is resinous? Ambra Calabria is tangy/zesty where Safran Colognise is more floral and resinous or tree sap-like. Has this weird effect on me where it acts almost like a gourmand to my nose (maybe because of my association with saffron) and makes me wanna get in close but what I "bite" into is a fresh leather jacket and I repulse back a bit. And that repeated quite a few times when I gave this a quick test today. It's like my brain wants it to be like the saffron in noir extreme but it surely is not. Absolutely not a safe blind buy. Definitely challenging despite its simplicity. Most challenging Nishane fragrance I own (Ani, Hacivat, Ambra Calabria). I think it's the most challenging fragrance in my collection in general, actually. Will probably get rid of this one because I'm not sure I can get past the "new car" kind of cadence. Wouldn't even use this as a car freshener, ombre leather serves that purpose far better in terms of scent profile but maybe not performance. Gotta give credit where it's due in that this is well composed, but I just can't really personally identify with this like I can with Ambra Calabria or any of my other Nishane fragrances. Will probably be letting this one go. Edit: someone said new glossy magazines and that's quite accurate to the scent profile. Same "DNA" such that if "new magazines" was a fragrance, this could be considered an even better clone/alternative. I prefer the actual smell of new magazines more though.
During the first few wearings , the citrus was more prominent as compared to the spices and the saffron . After subsequent wears , I get the citrus in the opening for a short bit and then the saffron and other spices take over and this starts to go somewhat in the dark territory . I actually like that but this beautiful scent at times seems overwhelming in 40 degrees centigrade heat . I think this is good for little less hot days . The leather comes out during the end phase of this and again reminds that it should be worn in slightly cooler months Quite a nice scent with strong performance of 12 plus hours on skin and clothes combined . Good projection for the first 6 hours or so . Less sprays will be good for office wear but will say this is not blind buy worthy at all because of the saffron and leather there which makes it bit challenging for some . For me this one is a total delight from start to end .
I can appreciate this fragrance wholeheartedly. Although I hate qualifying a fragrance with a gender, I have to mention that this leans a little too "masculine" for me. Let me explain: the leather is surprisingly very prominent to my nose. As many women have not been raised wearing leathery, woody, and smoky fragrances - it can be something we are not accustomed to and have a hard time wearing on our bodies. Nonetheless, I would love it if my boyfriend wore this. It reminds me of a tanned, attractive middle Eastern man with a white linen shirt. I do not smell any passionfruit (which disappoints me since I was here for it). I smell a bit of citrus but again, a more "masculine" leaning one. I also smell an interesting saffron, giving it almost an aldehydey note mixed with rubber. Lastly, there is definitely a flower in this fragrance. I see that magnolia is listed, I could not have identified that. Also, I wanted to add that I find the bottle of this fragrance much more appealing than the other Nishane fragrances.
Expensive leather sits car would smell like this. Like super expensive one. Think of Lambo or Ferrari sort of a thing. Crazy
Nice and pleasant and worth the price given that it is from Nishane. However, it reminds me of a high quality Vera Wang (original version). Fall fragrance, woody, a little leather with tobacco - dry and fairly linear.
