Amyris is a remarkable fragrance that embodies refinement, poise and sophistication. Its expert blend is truly exceptional, making it an excellent choice for a discerning gentleman. The scent is approachable and friendly, warranting a full bottle purchase. While I prefer the Extrait, the EDT remains a solid option until the price becomes more reasonable. It's worth noting that Fragrantica's notes are inaccurate; parfumo.net provides a more reliable breakdown of the fragrance's composition.
The opening is aquatic and powdery, with a prominent presence of green citrusy notes alongside iris, which gives off a distinct floral aura, reminiscent of Amyris.
I have a strong affinity for many Francis Kurkdjian creations, with Le Male being my go-to signature perfume for years. However, this particular fragrance was a major disappointment. Its scent profile is uncannily similar to Chic For Men CH, possibly with subtle undertones reminiscent of Armani Code and Boss Bottled. Given that I've previously owned all these scents, the comparison is inevitable. In my opinion, this designer perfume is significantly overpriced, even considering its quality doesn't quite justify the price tag. While it's not a bad fragrance per se, it feels dated rather than vintage, and the scent itself is merely okay – somewhat boring and occasionally sharp. The longevity lasts around 4-5 hours, with moderate projection. Ultimately, I struggle to understand why someone would invest so much money in this perfume when comparable scents are available at a fraction of the cost or better options exist elsewhere. This fragrance has earned my disappointment, for which I apologize.
It gives off a high-end vibe reminiscent of Chanel, with a focus on synthetic notes such as ambroxan and iso super e. While it may not be as distinctive as Satin Mood or BR 540, its broad appeal could make it more appealing to the average consumer. I'm hard-pressed to find fault with this scent, but at the same time, it doesn't quite live up to the standards set by other designer fragrances like Allure Homme, which offers similar qualities at a lower price point.
I am not fond of this scent. The initial notes evoke a strong impression of cucumbers and taco seasoning, which doesn't resonate with me. Furthermore, the dry down only intensifies the cucumber note, leaving an overall unimpressive fragrance.
