Les Exclusifs de Chanel Sycomore

First things first, I implore those who have only tried Sycomore once and didn't like it; please reconsider your judgment and give it another try! Initially, when I got my hands on a mini splash bottle, all I could detect was a stale cigarette smoke or ashtray note. Not exactly the most appealing aroma. It reminded me of someone returning from a smoke break outside, accompanied by a faint hint of generic cologne. I strongly disliked it and felt relieved to have saved money. However, surprisingly, Sycomore grew on me rapidly, and within just a couple of weeks, I found myself inexplicably drawn to its dusty, dry warmth, like a moth to a lightbulb. I was under its spell, unable to stop smelling it. Now, I'm head over heels in love with this masterpiece and consider it one of my absolute favorites from the Les Exclusifs range. Although I haven't tried Encre Noire, which many compare Sycomore to, I'm sure it's an excellent perfume as well. If it shares a connection with Sycomore, it's bound to be great. Sycomore exudes aromas reminiscent of dried hay in an old barn, warm cinnamon buns without sugar, tree bark, and smoky bonfires. It masterfully blends otherworldly and natural notes, which is truly remarkable! Smelling Sycomore is like taking a trip to an ancient forest far from civilization. The atmosphere is peaceful, yet slightly unsettling – as if something might be lurking in the shadows. The words that come to mind when I smell Sycomore are "safe" and "comforting," yet also "unsettling." It has a peculiar effect on me; it makes me feel like being wrapped in the arms of a rugged giant who appears menacing but is actually gentle – or so he claims! That dark, unsettling streak is always present, lurking in the background. Sycomore is one of the longest-lasting perfumes from the Les Exclusifs range, with moderate to heavy sillage. In conclusion, it's truly a winner!

The vetiver in this perfume stands out as exceptionally superior to anything else I've tried. The fragrance's overall structure is remarkably smooth, with a blend that's expertly crafted so each note can be easily distinguished. What's particularly pleasing is how seamlessly the notes are matched and linked together, like perfectly designed puzzle pieces creating a beautiful olfactory "sentence". As it dries down on my skin, I get the impression that it softens, warms up, and sweetens slightly - this subtle evolution was very enjoyable to experience. Most impressively, the longevity is fantastic, lasting well over 10 hours on my skin, far exceeding average standards. 😊

I haven't had a chance to try it, but when I did get a whiff of it, the initial aroma was surprisingly reminiscent of urine, although I've since come to understand that the burnt leaves undertone might be contributing to this sensation.
