Reviews

Gorgeous floral notes of white blooms, infused with fresh foliage and oceanic undertones. The scent is characterized by its soft, delicate, and delectable quality, featuring subtle metallic hints that evoke a silvery, cool tone. Lily, orange blossom, and honeysuckle are discernible, accompanied by whispers of green stems. Four hours in, the fragrance still exudes sweetness, gradually evolving into a spicy lily pollen note reminiscent of a bee coated with vibrant yellow pollen. Even 12 hours later, the scent remains perceptible, unfolding as a smooth, faintly spiced lily that persists on the skin all day. I find it to be an enchanting, ever-changing watercolor of white flowers that lingers pleasantly.

Not convinced at first, but ultimately charmed by its loveliness.

A lush, green, intense, and sensual unisex perfume with a bold opening featuring raw ginger. It gradually shifts to a subtle white lily note, evoking the freshness of a just-picked bouquet near a serene lake. While it may lack sweetness and creaminess, fans of De Profundis-style perfumes might appreciate its complexity. Compared to Lys, this scent is more versatile and less reflective. Well-crafted, clean, and summery, with an unexpected twist.

Lys Mediterranee is a captivating, alluring, and tantalizing scent that embodies the essence of romance and intrigue. Created by the talented perfumer Edoaurd Flechier in 2000, this fragrance showcases his expertise alongside the renowned house of Editions de Parfums Fredric Malle. Unlike other perfume houses, where the creator often remains anonymous, Fredric Malle credits its noses, making it a unique and refreshing approach. This sensual and subtle unisex fragrance is equally perfect on both men and women, exuding a fleshy sexiness that's hard to resist. The scent opens with a wave of oceanic notes spiced with ginger, reminiscent of a bright spring morning in Saint Tropez. As the top notes fade, they sink into the rich, wet earthy heart of the perfume, much like a vampire retreating at dawn. The star of the show is the lily note, full of ripe indolic sensuality, which is both sumptuous and dirty, with hints of Angelica and orange blossom adding depth. The lily note persists throughout the dry down, supported by creamy vanilla that elongates the sultry aspect of the perfume. A subtle musk note plays a supporting role, ensuring excellent longevity. Lys Mediterranee has moderate projection, making it an intimate scent that demands closeness rather than loud declarations. Its impressive longevity lasts around eight to nine hours, leaving a lasting impression. In my opinion, Lys Mediterranee embodies the three S's - Sultry, Sensuous, and Sexy. It's full of life, inviting, and utterly captivating. I'm grateful to Chase at Barney's NY in San Francisco for introducing me to this magnificent perfume and sharing her expertise with me.

This perfume has a distinct scent reminiscent of lily and the green, earthy aroma of watermelon rind. The fragrance lacks sweetness, instead featuring a fresh, watery quality that's slightly raw. The seawater note adds an intriguing earthiness to the blend. The smell is oddly familiar, evoking memories of blue bubblegum ice cream from my childhood. Unfortunately, this perfume didn't quite meet my expectations, which may skew my review; while I don't dislike it, I don't have strong affection for it either.
