Another hit from Byredo in my opinion. While this scent isn't a dupe of NR Her's Velvet Haze, it does share some similar musky and chouli-driven sweetness. However, this one is sweeter without feeling overwhelming and has a prominent peach and coconut vibe. Velvet Haze reminds me of warm, tropical beach days—light, hazy, and full of sun-kissed charm. It’s unisex and strikes the perfect balance between warm and sensual, with just the right amount of dryness and sweetness. While I don’t detect the cacao notes others have mentioned, it’s still a lovely and unique fragrance overall.

A lot of Byredo scents I've tried have been uninteresting, but Byredo Velvet Haze exceeded all my expectations. It's smoky with a hint of woodiness, but what truly stands out is its intense softness. This scent brings up nostalgia for me, reminding me of the first time experiencing autumn or early winter as a child.

The scent heavily features patchouli and musk, reminiscent of Narciso Rodriguez fragrances. In my opinion, the fragrance feels outdated and lacks originality, especially since I dislike the prominent musk and tuberose elements. As with many Byredo scents, this one has poor longevity.

Wearing Velvet Haze for the second time, I'm going against what others might say and really enjoying it. It starts with cacao and coconut, both rich and realistic, along with a creamy floral note. The middle is balanced patchouli and musk, making it a smooth unisex scent. Easy to wear without being overpowering, perfect for my teaching job. It lasts a few hours before fading into a light skin scent. Velvet Haze feels like a versatile, everyday perfume that's both comfortable and stylish.

The perfume is rich in tuberose at 50%, with patchouli contributing 49% and just a subtle hint of coconut at 1%. It has decent longevity, lasting around 3 to 5 hours, and projects a moderate sillage. While it might appeal to those who love tuberose, I personally don't find it as compelling. Upon reevaluating the scent, I realize that patchouli plays a more prominent role than before, which I actually like quite a bit. It reminds me of Narcisso Rodriguez For Her but offers a creamier texture without the dryness. The more I wear it, the more I appreciate its character, though its longevity makes me ponder its value.
