Reminds me of a unique blend, akin to an herbal mixture often added to lemony, yeasty cake. Additionally, there's a subtle presence of clove in the background. After sampling every Byredo fragrance at my local perfumery, I ultimately decided to purchase this one. Ultimately, perfume preferences are highly subjective, don't you agree?
The opening notes of this perfume are quite enticing, with a pleasant pepper accord that caught my attention. However, unfortunately, the scent quickly turns sour and overwhelming, reminiscent of ketchup. I must admit that I'm not fond of ketchup, and its presence in this perfume is quite off-putting. In fact, it was so unpleasant that I had to wash it off my skin. The name "Eleventh Hour" does seem fitting, as if it's a last-minute grab for something quick and unrefined, much like grabbing fast food on the go.
Intoxicating aroma with a masterful blend of elements. Like other Byredo scents, 11th Hour successfully crafts an original fragrance that doesn't rely too heavily on one specific note. Notably, I'm taken aback by the absence of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, and/or cardamom in the notes, as the head note appears to be a potent rush of pepper and warm spices.
To my nose, this perfume exudes elegance. I envision it suiting a gentleman perfectly. Nevertheless, its woody notes don't resonate with my personal style. I'm intrigued by the prospect of experiencing it on another individual.
The initial hour is quite astonishing. A unique blend of spicy fruit unfolds, which is both perplexing yet alluring, prompting another sniff to decipher its intricacies. The fruit notes bear a striking resemblance to Pulp, but the presence of spices and carrot seeds adds an intriguing layer of complexity. As the fragrance progresses beyond the first hour, a dominant iso e super emerges, exhibiting sweet and woody characteristics. Faint whispers of other woody notes can be detected in the background. I appreciated the spicy fruit accord, as it's uncommon to find such a combination. The juxtaposition of sweetness and spiciness is indeed thrilling. However, the iso e super drydown ultimately falls short of my expectations. I am left wondering how this scent would fare without the cloying sweet and synthetic drydown that mars its overall impression.
