The perfume is underwhelming. The packaging is stunning, but I wish the scent inside would live up to its provocative promise; instead, it's a dull, uninspired fragrance that lacks depth and sophistication, much like a bookworm who prioritizes studies over adventure.
Cardamom dominates the fragrance with no sugary notes, having a slightly woody character. While it's darker in tone compared to Lune Feline, I find it shares many similarities. In fact, it reminds me of other perfumes like Mimosa and Cardamom by [Brand], Santal 33 by [Brand]...
I acquired the mini discovery set due to my surprise at how exceptional the collection is, and I couldn't make up my mind which one to choose. This is the first one I've tried from my minis. I absolutely adore it, yet there are a few things to take note of. The scent profile is nothing new; it's simply exemplary. This is a creamy earl grey tea vanilla to me - it has the same aura as Burberry goddess, but with a different floral note and significantly higher quality. I don't detect cardamom or spice. I'm absolutely enthralled by its creaminess and luxurious texture, which makes it highly addictive and feminine without being powdery or overly floral. However, $500 after tax for a 90 ml with an unappealing bottle - I'm not sure I can justify that for something so conventional. As a signature scent, it works exceptionally well. But I don't do signature scents. Furthermore, this smells remarkably similar in the dry down to Vanille Leather by BDK. The difference is that BDK projects more for me, and has much better longevity. Additionally, the dusty, root-like Orris dominates that fragrance in the opening and still somewhat in the dry down, whereas this is just creamy, delectable, soft iris vanilla all the way through. This projects well for the first hour or so, but unfortunately it turns into a skin scent within a few hours. After about three, it's completely undetectable. I will continue to savor my 9ml and decide whether to get the full bottle. It's a beautiful fragrance, but honestly I don't anticipate spending that type of money for this scent profile. On to Loubicrown!
It was too intense for my taste. I was led to believe this perfume bore resemblance to Celine black tie, but I disagree. The vanilla is not prominent in this scent, and the iris comes across as more piercing than I prefer. While it's an excellent fragrance overall, it doesn't resonate with me. However, its longevity is impressive - after applying two spritzes on my arm after work, I cooked dinner, managed the kids, went for a run, showered, and the fragrance still lingers as a skin scent.
This perfume bears a striking resemblance to Whispers in the Library on my skin. While I have a fondness for its scent, I believe it is overpriced.
