Undervalued fragrance. This one of my standout scents among my extensive collection of over 100. I'm enamored with its essence.
A truly delectable gourmand fig scent that exudes soft, calming, warm, and sweet undertones. The aroma reminds me of a freshly baked fig pie with a dollop of whipped cream. While there's a subtle synthetic quality to it, I would have appreciated a more realistic fig note akin to Philosykos. Nevertheless, this is an indulgent treat that's sure to please. The sillage and longevity are decent as well.
I was fortunate enough to try out this perfume yesterday, wearing it as my scent of the day, but unfortunately, it was just a blur for me. While it wasn't bad by any means, I didn't find myself blown away by its overall presence. The fragrance was pleasant and easy to wear, with notes of nuttiness and creaminess on a base of light woods dominating throughout its lifespan. I struggled to detect the fig, fruity notes, or iris, but did catch a whiff of tonka bean later in the day. Longevity-wise, it performed well, lasting over 12 hours on my skin, with good projection for the first few hours before settling closer to the skin. Sillage was not its strong suit, though - I didn't pick up as much of a trail as I typically do with other fragrances. While I enjoyed wearing it, I must admit that I was disappointed by my inability to detect the fig and iris notes, which are two of my favorite components in perfumery.
This perfume stands out among my favorites from IA, boasting a sweet, deliciously unique scent that sets it apart from other fragrances in my extensive 156-bottle niche collection. In fact, I haven't found anything else with a similar aroma among all the perfumes I've tried and purchased over time - I currently own 12. While every fragrance in this house impresses me with its distinctiveness and interest, there are two exceptions: A City On Fire and Bulls Blood. Unfortunately, Bulls Blood lacks rose or patchouli notes for my taste, which spoils the scent for me; conversely, A City On Fire is not wearable due to the overpowering strength of cade oil, which I find overwhelming and even irritating.
Always up for another fig fragrance adventure! I'm on the same page as BourgeoisBanana - loved this scent when I tested it! This one's got a vintage vibe, like someone older with a colorful personality inside and out. The wood and tonka take center stage, overpowering the rest of the notes. Not my cup of tea, but I do catch whiffs of fig mixed with fruity notes that turn into a sweet, jammy scent. On the bright side, it has decent longevity, even after showering! It reminds me of Roger & Gallet's Fleur de Figuier Eau de Parfum, which shares similar characteristics ๐๐
