This is a really smooth, high-end smelling fragrance. It screams luxury and I'm confused as to why it's rated so low. This is a banger!
The opening is all Cashmeran, to my nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's so prominent to me that I'm shocked it's not listed in the note pyramid. Perhaps the "sand" accord is built with Cashmeran. I get a peppery, slightly smoky sandalwood in the opening with some slightly green rosy aspects, not unlike the stem of a fresh rose. I imagine the pepper nuances are from the nutmeg, cardamom, and Cashmeran (or possibly the spices are giving the impression of Cashmeran). This dries down to a grainy wood with nutmeg and kind of a creamy smooth musk/tonka combination. I'm wearing for the first time. So far it's going strong, but I'll have to wait to speak on the longevity. For me, sillage and projection are moderate, an arm's length or so. I'm catching whiffs of that Cashmeran smell quite strongly off and on over time, and that effect is more prominent from a distance. If I bury my nose into my arm, I get straight up wood with a touch of spice. As others have said, this is unisex, leaning a bit masculine. I do quite like this, but compared to the other fragrances from this house, it's not in my top favorites. My favorites from BDK in order are: 1) Wood Jasmin 2) Rouge Smoking 3) Gris Charnel 4) Creme de Cuir Pas Ce Soir is also great for summer. The #5 spot is probably a toss up between Pas Ce Soir and Nuit de Sable. A solid like, for sure. Maybe bordering on a love. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. Nice solid fall/winter fragrance. 7/10
Fresh pack of cigarettes. Or I'd even say certain cigars. Intoxicating enough as if someone were smoking right next to you. More masculine, still unisex imo. Certainly unique. Very French.
Very tasty and very bizarre at the same time. For one, it smells like a high-quality dessert. Similar to Tom Ford Noir Extreme, only slightly sharper and stronger. On the other hand, a urine note is recognizable. But by no means unpleasant, on the contrary! It even looks erotic. I will test this fragrance more often. Different times of day and at different temperatures. Only then will I make a final judgement. But so far I like it! Update: Unfortunately, the fragrance loses this bizarre touch and now smells like honey. I don't think that's a good thing.
Tobacco, gasoline, ambrette, some sort of white floral note and smoky leather. Quite a hard one to decipher! A dry, unsweetened leather, I guess?
