Many users express concerns about a perfume's longevity. Not all scents need to be overpowering or overwhelming for others around us. I find that this perfume is designed for personal, intimate moments due to its seductive and captivating aroma. What initially held me back from purchasing was the initial scent, which I found unpleasantly pungent; however, as the fragrance evolves and settles, it reveals a truly lovely and alluring quality.
Lovely combination of fruity and sweet notes, featuring prominent cherry and vanilla accords, with a subtle hint of nutty almond on the dry down.
To my nose, Rouge Smoking bears an uncanny resemblance to Lancôme La Nuit Trésor à la Folie. Upon examining the notes, I noticed that they share striking similarities, particularly in the top and base layers. While I personally prefer the discontinued Lancôme scent, I think anyone who loved it might appreciate Rouge Smoking as a suitable alternative. However, I detect a slightly more synthetic and artificial quality to Rouge Smoking, which detracts from its overall appeal. Nevertheless, it's a seductive and alluring nighttime perfume reminiscent of à la Folie (which I ultimately decluttered due to my limited use for this scent profile). 😊
This perfume has successfully piqued my curiosity about "play-doh notes". I'm torn on its scent. While it boasts a lovely, warm sweetness reminiscent of vanilla that expertly avoids the cloying feel of many overly sweet perfumes, at times I catch whiffs of artificial bubblegum-like notes (albeit not quite accurate). Most scents similar to this super-sweet, powdered cherry with an ambroxan vibe usually leave me queasy and dislikeable. That this one has stopped me in my tracks, leaving me taking sniff after sniff as I try to decipher my feelings about it, is telling. It's not a complex or challenging scent but somehow, my brain keeps short-circuiting as it tries to decide if I adore it or detest it.
@Prunel's Extrait requires a stronger concentration, as it's currently quite subtle.
