Reviews

I am not a fan of tuberose scents in general, but here it is handled gently and couched in enough other complementary floral notes that it behaves. Sweet and very feminine.

A nice buttery mentholated sweet tuberose with ylang and non-indolic jasmines with a touch of regal iris. Geranium and willowherb burn off immediately after application for me. Good moderate sweet vanillic benzoin sandalwood base with a touch of dry cypress and chewy patchouli to mitigate the sweetness. Unfortunately the "cashmeran" note ruins this one for me as it gets stronger and stronger in the drydown and becomes more cloudy, thick, foggy, and then unbearably suffocating. If not for the cashmeran accord I would really like this. White floral lovers who aren't put off by cashmeran should try this, it may be a strong like/love for them.

I've been craving to test this one and finally got a decant. Straight bubblebum (the plastic that wraps the gum included). It's nice and interesting, a bit headache and nausea inducing, at least in early summer like now. I've learnt from my experiences not to judge a perfume before wearing at least 2-3 times. But, smelling my wrist only, and judging from 1st and 2nd impression I would not get a full bottle. At least not for now. Not bad at all but not smth I would purchase.

Tubéreuse Imperiale; a beauty to behold. I was immediately interested in trying out BDK Parfums for a personal reason; the founder of the brand David Benedek has a hungarian name; he is of Romanian descent from his father’s side; Transylvania to be precise; however he was born in Paris. It is refreshing to see a name I recognise. Somehow it makes me happy. I received a sample of Tubereuse Imperiale from Sommelier du Parfum as something that would suit my taste and they were right - it was love at first sniff. The first few sentences describe perfectly what I feel while I am wearing the scent; freedom, closeness to nature, sweet embraces. Tubereuse Imperiale is a gorgeous mix of indian tuberose and ylang and gardenia - imagine that floral burst! These fantastic floral notes are supported by the sensual nature of sandalwood, vanilla, benzoin - somehow the blend makes this tuberose fragrance so very rich and so very creamy and smooth - so very elegant! What I find also very interesting is that all throughout the experience I detect some subtle spiciness and smokiness to it - this is not your average tuberose scent. This is blended beautifully - I really enjoy the fact that during its drydown, the smokiness is so present and somehow the sweetness of the floral facets are tamed. - This reveals a completely new dimension of beauty.

This is a beautiful buttery tuberose fragrance with a very prominent ylang-ylang note, which gives it the slightest bit of a tropical feel (in my opinion). I’ve heard the term buttery used to describe tuberose fragrances and this one is indeed very buttery and creamy. Actually, it reminds me of a buttery, floral Chardonnay! In the dry down I get more of the vanilla, however on me the fragrance does not change a lot from the opening. As far as longevity, this lasted all day on me, and had moderate projection. It’s a very happy and uplifting fragrance!!
