Twilly d’Hermès

This perfume has become my new go-to! It's incredibly lovable in my opinion. The scent is an everyday joy, with a fun, happy atmosphere that's warm and inviting. A fresh, fruity, gingery tuberose aroma greets me, which is completely addictive! Initially, it opens with ginger and tuberose, then evolves into a creamy, warm, slightly soapy fragrance that softens over time. Throughout the day, I catch fresh whiffs that leave me unsure if it's Twilly or someone else around me who smells clean and fresh. I think the combination of ginger and tuberose creates a peppy, clean, yet soft and warm effect that I adore. The packaging is also a standout, with its beautiful colours, lid, and overall presentation. In my opinion, this fragrance is a 10 out of 10 – it's my top pick from Hermes.

I stumbled upon this perfume during a trip to Asia, possibly Japan or Thailand – my memory's a bit fuzzy, but it was 2018. The moment I tried it, I was smitten and asked my aunt to gift it to me, as I couldn't afford it at the time (I was still in college). Despite trying numerous other fragrances since then, this one remains a constant favorite. My boyfriend humorously described its scent as something fit for a young European royal or a young professional with newfound wealth – I concur!

Reading all these glowing reviews of Twilly makes me think of Andersen’s fable "The Emperor's New Clothes". As someone who admires many Hermes fragrances, I must say: the emperor has no clothes! Additionally, I find the commercial video quite ridiculous. Twilly is a pleasant scent, but it's also an average one, regardless of how you look at it. This doesn't surprise me, considering the work of Ms. Nagel in general. Personally, I never found her creations particularly thrilling. Unfortunately for Hermes, Mr. Ellena's genius leaves big shoes to fill, and Ms. Nagel is simply struggling to keep up, with Twilly being a prime example.

I'm not typically drawn to perfumes with strong white floral notes, yet I find myself enjoying this one immensely! While it may lack distinctiveness, its pleasant, wearable quality makes up for it, rendering it elegant in my opinion.

This perfume is an absolute must-have for white flower enthusiasts. The orchid scent is very pronounced, fresh, crisp, and refreshing, yet it's subtly blended with a hint of ginger, creating a wonderful harmony of notes. The fragrance is neither too light nor too heavy, but rather perfectly balanced, evoking a sense of youthful vitality and joy. I think this perfume is extremely versatile, suitable for all occasions, and particularly fitting for temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius.
